It was going to be a modest 2-storey cottage. But, as we spent some time wandering the site, the lure of a rooftop garden and a partial view of the village and the bay to the east lifted us up above the trees. And to catch the winter sun and summer breezes, the inside took shape with as few walls as possible, and no less than 30 windows. The result is a stacked series of wonderful, spacious rooms, full of light and air.
